Short Bio
:
Heidi Mortenson is a Scandinavian composer, producer and performer, crafting electronic songs. Early works include recording her own voice in a washing machine, building microphones from telephones and creating music through a walkie-talkie. 
For her recent release Mørk EP, on the acclaimed Danish electronica label RUMP Recordings, she was nominated for the Gaffa Music Award for Best Artist of the Year.

After playing her first concert, Mortenson was appointed Resident Artist 2003 at the annual experimental LEM festival in Barcelona. From this point Mortenson’s career took off, and she went on a European Tour with visual artist SOLU, played the opening act of Transmediale Festival 2004 in Berlin, released her debut album on her own record label and received a wide range of positive critical notes. Since then, Mortenson has added worldwide festivals, artist residencies and outstanding projects and collaborations to her CV. Her work was featured in the american TV series The L Word and in 2010 Mortenson took part in Laurie Anderson's remix contest and got an honourable mention and streaming of the remix on Anderson's website.
The Telegraph, UK wrote in a concert review: 
“The artist who totally blew my mind was Heidi Mortenson (...) She conjures up weirdly colourful, avant-garde dance tracks out of nothing (...) Fantastically entertaining and completely original.”
